The Science of Raising Your Vibration
Anyone who travels within spiritual circles has probably heard about “vibrations.” The context is usually that someone with a higher vibration is somehow more spiritual or that the goal of the individual is to raise his or her vibration. But what does this really mean? Is it all just spiritual mumbo jumbo or is there actually a science behind vibrations? As you probably figured out from the title of this article, I believe that there is absolutely a science to this spiritual concept. And I believe I can prove it.
Let’s start with what we know. At the center of our solar system is our sun—a big ball of light. Around it, orbits the planets. The closer planets, such as Mercury and Venus, move quicker around the sun because they have smaller orbits. In our universe, patterns are continually repeating. For example, the atoms that make up the matter of our world are designed just like mini-solar systems. 
At the center of every atom is a nucleus. Around it, orbits its electrons. The difference is that at this subatomic level, the electrons can leap from one orbit to the next, giving us the term “quantum leap.”
When an electron moves from one orbit to one that is closer to the nucleus, it gives off energy or light. This is pretty much physics 101. Just about any physicist knows about this and would agree that it’s a proven fact. Unfortunately however, most scientists do not think metaphorically. Symbolism and metaphor is the realm of the artist, writer, musician, or poet. In an ideal world, scientists and artists would work together to help solve the universe’s biggest mysteries. Since we’re not quite there yet, you have people like me who hear about issues scientists are dealing with, see solutions they might not see, and feel compelled to share them with others. However, since these creative types don’t have the right schooling or degrees, their ideas often aren’t taken seriously, especially by said scientists (those who don’t read blogs like this I mean.) I’m hopeful that one day there will be official jobs for those who do what I do, but for now it’s up to you to decide whether any of this deserves any merit. It is man who decided that only those who’ve learned certain things about a topic have a right to expand the knowledge about that topic. But why should anyone get to decide the official sources for truth? As usual, I say if you read something that rings true for you, great. If not, let it go.
So, most any physicist would agree that an electron gives off energy/light as it jumps to a closer orbit. And they’d also agree that we are made up of atoms. But here’s where I’m going to take a quantum leap. Since we are all made up of atoms, any principle that is true for them, must also be true for us. Therefore, just as atoms give off light when they leap closer to their source, so do we. Atoms are energy and energy is what connects us all together. At the center of our spiritual universe is light and all of our souls revolve around it. Whenever we do something that is for our material self alone—either with certain foods, drink, sex, money, or actions that are only for our own selfish pleasures—our souls leap to an orbit that is further from the light. However, when we act in ways that go against our selfish, material inclinations, and more in-line with the light, we leap to an orbit that is closer to it.
Once this happens, just as with electrons, we release a stream of energy/light. This light attracts and empowers others, changing their own energy in such a way that enables them to get closer to the light themselves. Those whose souls have made this leap are now orbiting closer to the center of the light and therefore have a smaller orbit, which means they are moving faster. This faster orbit is what is known as a higher vibration. The closer we get to the light source, the more light we give off, and the quicker our energy vibrates. The quicker we vibrate, the less we are bound by the material rules of time and space. Space-time is an illusion of the material world. As we all begin to move collectively (influenced by one another’s leaps) towards the light, time will seem to speed up as it heads towards one single moment since one moment is really all there is.
Eventually, those with higher vibrations will be able to skip around time and space just like atoms do. And once we have a critical mass of people who can do this—enough energy to tip the scale in all one direction—our entire planet will increase it’s vibration. At that point, just like an electron, the entire planet Earth will leap into an orbit that is closer to its nucleus, the sun, and give off light in the process. Will we all be fried by this? No, because most everyone will have increased their own vibrations, enabling them to leave their material selves behind, and a new society of light beings will exist on a glowing world at an orbit closer to our sun.
If any of this feels true to you, you may have a desire to have it fit in to the beliefs you already have. What I just illustrated is actually built into every religion, albeit metaphorically. It is the principle of the Sephirot in Judaism, reincarnation in Hinduism, The Buddha and Dharma in Buddhism and the internal principle of Jihad in Islam. In Christianity, this entire story is symbolically demonstrated. Jesus is the sun. He is surrounded by the 12 apostles (electrons/planets). Jesus sacrifices his material body to help us, through the wisdom of the apostles, to raise our collective vibrations. And one day, Jesus shall return and those who followed his ways shall be like him and experience a rapture, leaving the material earth behind. The whole Messianic Age is basically the time when we collectively raise our vibrations and share in the light we give to one another. I do not believe that a being will arrive to show us how to do this. We already have the wisdom and are becoming more and more conscious of it each day. Hopefully, this article will help us remember a little bit more, so we can then pass it on to others. As for those empirical-types who think my quantum leap was more leap of faith than science, I invite you to explore the leading theory that attempts to explain the building blocks of our universe—tiny vibrating loops known as string theory. Perhaps the idea of vibrations from that perspective will resonate more deeply for you.

Is a quantum leap the same as a leap of faith? Another insightful and intuitive commentary Marc. Any kids on the way yet?
Okay, I see how you distinguish the two: Jack v. John.
Ha ha. Yeah, that was just my little play on words. But I guess metaphorically, yes, quantum leap would be within the realm of science (Jack) and leap of faith is spiritual (John). Glad you liked it. The stars haven’t yet aligned for kids, but I’m sure I’ll post something on Facebook should that change.
Higher vibrations/more spiritually aligned and light…is that what people are seeing when they’re able to read auras?
On another note, I JUST finished reading your post and looked up to see the TV in the background. At that exact moment on the screen was the actor Scott Bakula from the TV show Quantum Leap!!!!!! I had never watched the show and haven’t seen that face is YEARS but I recognized him immediately.
I believe that everyone emits an energy frequency which could be seen by those who are sensitive to it, regardless of how high their vibration is. The higher vibrations probably emit higher frequency colors like blue and violet.
As for your synchronicitous observation with the “Quantum Leap” star just after reading a blog that mentioned quantum leaps, I’d say you’ve officially crossed the threshold into conscious manifestation, where the more clues and connections you observe, the more you will receive! I’ve come to believe that we create these clues ourselves, for ourselves. There’s no going back now! But if you keep an open mind and enjoy uncovering these clues, they can lead you in a direction that will help you succeed at the task you were put on this world to achieve! I have to call you on that. This is your hypothesis, so lets design an experiment to prove or disprove your idea.
There are probably several, but this one came to mind first.
We will need a couple of people who are “sensitive to it” (I trust that since you put forward the hypothesis you know some people with this super power.)
Then we need a randomised group of the public for testing. Since what you describe is a gradated scale of results, higher and lower ‘frequencies’ display different colours, most will emit something and some a lot.
We then design a form to record the results. Each of the sensitive people in a separate room, with no communication permitted between them.
The subjects are sent to each room individually and the vibrations tested by each experimenter and the results recorded on the sheets.
To prove your hypothesis you need to compare the sheets, each experimenter should produce matching vibrations on each subject. If they do (and if all results are not negative) then your hypothesis is supported by this test, if not, it fails.
Oh and if you need any encouragement you could then claim Randi’s million dollars.

Thanks for your experiment idea. I would love to see it performed, however, I do not personally know of enough candidates to make a statistically accurate experiment feasible. The good news though is that there have actually been hundreds of such experiments already done that you can read about here: http://www.amazon.com/dp/0525952047/?tag=orowriter-20. While I’m sure that most of these will not meet your burden of proof requirements, you may find a portion of them at least intriguing. As I’ve mentioned in some of my other posts, at one time, the idea of pictures being carried in invisible waves or tiny creatures living in our bodies were thought to be magical thinking or paranormal. I am of the belief that everything I write about is science that simply hasn’t been proven yet. A lot of this is actually beginning to be recognized in experiments by legit scientists. I wrote more on that in the post about the science behind our world being a simulation.
Keep questioning and seeking truth Paul. Believe it or not, we’re on the same team.

There hasn’t been a single experiment that proves any such thing. Not one. I would be happy if you could prove me wrong.
What would you need to prove this? A properly constructed experiment using controls and records with a skeptical observer.
I am not on your side (unless you change sides) and it is pointless to believe anything otherwise.
I have determined to audit my beliefs so that I believe as many true things as possible and as few false things.
And I must point out that NOTHING, absolutely NOTHING is science unless it is proven using the greatest invention of humanity, the scientific method. And science, doesn’t care or change at all what your beliefs are, only what can be proven to be true is true in science. It remains true, even if the whole planet does not believe it.
Further, how much closer to the Sun must we get to take full advantage of the increase in energy?

There is much that is true that cannot be proven. Love, the mind, not even you or I can be proven to exist. You put a lot of faith in what your senses tell you, but nothing you experience is actually real. Everything you sense is something processed by your brain through a series of chemical reactions that cause you to see, hear, smell, taste, and touch stimuli that have actually occurred milliseconds earlier. But I’m sure you’ve heard these arguments before, and have your answers waiting. To save us both time, let’s just say that like two blind men trying to describe an elephant, there are elements of truth in both of our opinions but neither of us yet have the complete picture of the reality. You can continue to prove that your elephant is what you think it is through testable means and I will go with my instincts, seek correlations and patterns, and maybe one day you and I will be able to come together with a truth greater than either of us imagined.

Thanks for sharing that Joe, though, you actually pulled that quote out of context. The full quote is: “But here’s where I’m going to take a quantum leap. Since we are all made up of atoms, any principle that is true for them, must also be true for us.” I’m using “quantum leap” here as a metaphor for a leap of faith. In many of my other posts, I point out how parallels in one area are often true in another. I’m not even sure that the example given at the link you provided really fits in as snugly as you may assume. Their example is: “This fragment of metal cannot be fractured with a hammer, therefore the machine of which it is a part cannot be fractured with a hammer.” However, atoms are not a part of us, they are the basis of our composition. So a closer analogy might be: “This fragment of metal glows green when heated to 220ºC, therefore the machine which is completely made of this metal must also glow green when heated to 220ºC.” I do agree that I am making a parallel here between worlds that may not apply, so on some level it may be a fallacy of composition, but at the very least I think it warrants further research.
About the earth jumping to a new orbit, it does not mean that there will be a monumental spatial shift towards the sun once our collective vibration is raised. Even a tiny jump in terms of measurement in space, lets say something like a million kilometers, would put us closer to the sun but in no more significant danger from its radiation. Many people want to think big with everything, but actually it can be minor shifts in our daily lives and consciousness that will make a gigantic difference in the world.
I agree that little things add up to a lot. If everyone just focused on growing themselves, the whole world would evolve. Probably if just 51% to reach a critical mass. I mentioned the orbit jump because it paralleled the election/nucleus metaphor, but isn’t really necessary for the general gist of the article. That being said though, I guess when I feel like I’m channeling the messages for people to envision, might as well think big. And the only thing that makes it big, is our belief.
The election/nucleus(sic) metaphor as an analogue of the orbit of the planets around the sun is fallacious and has been known as such since early last century. If electrons orbited the nucleus in the way proposed by the Niels Bohr model they would instantly spin off and leave every nucleus in the universe bereft of electrons. Since there are electrons bound to nuclei, we must abandon this model.

Clearly not. I am constructed as far as anyone knows entirely of atoms. But the characteristics of atoms do not transfer directly to me. At the sub atomic level, everything changes. I cannot be in two places at once, but an electron can. Or can as far as we are able to perceive.
I am a sentient being, I am aware of my fate to the extent that I know at some point I will die. No atom is aware that it will ‘die’ when the universe finally runs out of energy and all motion and even the motion of electrons will cease.

Thanks for pointing out that typo, Paul. Yes, I obviously meant “electron” not “election.” As for the planets/electrons metaphor, I just made the comparison to point out how patterns repeat on both huge and small scales. And that Mercury and Venus move quicker around the sun, relating to quicker vibrations. I’m sure that the physics of planetary rotation isn’t exactly like that of electrons, but no need to throw the baby out with the bathwater.
I respectfully disagree that you cannot be in two places at once. I think there is a lot of truth in the multiverse and many-worlds theories of reality. Right now there could very well be a million Pauls in multiple realities all insisting that they are the only one. Is this something that can be proven yet? No, but we’re getting closer. You have to be able to dream up a theory before you can think of experiments to prove it.
How do you know what an atom knows? The principles of quantum entanglement seem to suggest that atoms have connections way beyond what anyone would have thought. And if they can skip through time, they may have actually experienced their demise, only to jump back again, carrying with them knowledge beyond what we are conscious of as humans.
When I wrote, “I guess when I feel like I’m channeling the messages for people to envision, might as well think big,” I meant that when I am acting like an open channel for wisdom to come to me, kind of like a WiFi connection (I explained it in detail here: https://thelaymansanswerstoeverything.com/2013/04/28/the-invisible-thread/), I pass it along in hopes that the collective focus can help make it manifest.
Glad to see you keep coming back despite your skepticism. Something tells me that deep down you’d love it if at least some of this were true, but just wish that there was more evidence.
